Anderson Elementary Parents: We have received the safety surveys back and found the information was very informative! Thank you for your participation. In an effort to follow up on some suggestions, we have implemented new procedures for car riders and walk up dimissals. These procedures may cause some delays. Keep in mind that we have over 250 students being picked up daily. Our main objective is to get everyone through dismissal safely. Please be patient and supportive! Your cooperation is essential and appreciated! Changes in Pick Up Procedure: *A staff member will assign you a numbered spot for you to pull your car up to while waiting in the pick up line. A staff member will be holding a sign with a number to make sure that you know where to pull up. In addition, we are in the process of placing permanent sign posts with these numbers for this procedure. *Students will be loaded at this assigned spot only through the passenger side. If possible and safe, open automatic doors just prior to pulling into your designated spot. *Do not pull around other cars unless directed by a staff member. *Please WAIT until the cars in front of you have pulled away before leaving the dismissal area. *If you are in the #1 spot, please wait until a staff member signals you to pull away. Changes in Car Pick Up Identification Process: *Every car picking up a student will be required to display a sign with child's name and grade level. *If you have more than one student to pick up, you may put the last name of each child and their grade on the card(s). *Please place this sign in a very visible location such as the passenger side visor. We will distribute 2 cards for each car rider family. You may request additional signs through your homeroom teacher. *If you have someone else picking up your child, please give them your card or they will have to park and go into the office. Anyone picking up your child is required to be listed on the check out verification list that is on file in the office and must have proper identification. *It is required that you call the office before 2:00 when you have a change in transportation or when someone else is picking up your child(ren), unless it is an emergency. *IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CARD IN YOUR VEHICLE AT DISMISSAL, YOU CANNOT GO THROUGH THE PICK UP CIRCLE. You will have to park and come to the Walk Up Line just outside the exterior media center door and show proper identification. IF YOU ARE NOT WAITING IN THE CAR PICK UP LINE, BUT ARE WALKING UP TO PICK UP YOUR CHILDREN....We have made some changes to help keep your children safe. *Please do not crowd the main entrance, wait in the lobby, or sit on the student benches after 2:15. *Please wait in line at the outside door of the media center (the fire door). Once you have shown proper identification, a staff member will call your child(ren) for dismissal to the media center. For the childrens' safety, no one will be permitted to take a child off the premises unless they follow the above outlined dismissal procedures for Anderson Elementary.
