Honors Art III 1st quarter sketchbook assignments

Drawings for human proportion, still life, and negative space. Please include
a second drawing of your own choosing each week. DON’T FORGET THE TRAVELLING
SKETCHBOOK! Travelling Sketchbook (an artistic archive inspired by Nicole
Brisco)
The Travelling Sketchbook is an opportunity for you to share your work with
your peers and future art students. Each student in the Honors classes has the
privilege of adding to the sketchbook one or two times per quarter. Most
students choose to do their “free draw” in the Travelling Sketchbook but you
may choose an assigned drawing.
You may draw, paint, collage and/or write on the pages. Develop your page(s)
into a finished work. Try doing your page as a spread (2 pages facing each
other) More guidelines: Draw from life, think creatively, make your pages
original, think about composition and design, and allow your style to come
through. Don’t allow pages to become scrap-booky – these are fine art
drawings.
