Does the school take responsibilty for my child's musical instrument?

Though your child leaves his/her instrument in the instrumental
storage area unattended, the school cannot assume responsibilty
for theft or damage. For this reason, it is highly recommended
to have the instrument in a hard shell, lockable case. For
guitars, we request that each instrument has a label of student
identifaction on it.

What if an athletic or other extra-curricular event conflicts with a musical performance?

All performances take precedence over extra-curricular activities
including sports. Students must plan at the beginning of the
year to be completely available for performances already on the
syllabus and calendar. (see classroom policy in the syllabus)

What is Fine Arts Day?

Fine Arts Day is an all-day and into-the-night festival of Music
and Art held out in the courtyard (weather permitting) on an
outdoor stage. Performances throughout the day feature all music
students (except Guitar I) following the schedule of music
classes. Families and friends are invited in the evening for
more music performances, a cookout dinner, silent auction, and a
PTO meeting. Art exhibits and activities run through the day and
night. Parent volunteers are welcome. More information later in
the year on the "Annoucements" Page
