SCOPEThis is aperformance-oriented class open to all singers. Ability in music reading isdesirable but not required. Required performances include monthly Masses,school concerts, and musicals that may require time out-of-class forrehearsals. Never stays on task during class&#8212;always disruptive behavior.&nbsp;Is consistently late to class and ill-prepared for rehearsal.&nbsp;Music is disorganized or frequently lost.&nbsp;Unexcused absences.</td></tr></tbody></table>&nbsp;TEACHER EXPECTATIONS AND STANDARDS1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Allstudents are to be present, prepared and punctual.2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Uponarriving to class, students are expected to get their music folder from thecabinet.&nbsp;At the end of class, studentsare expected to put their folder away in their assigned slots.Alwayskeep your music in your folder.3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Studentsare expected to be attentive and respectful of others at all times.4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain apositive attitude at all times!&nbsp;Be supportive of your classmates.&nbsp;Donotexpress any dislike of the music being rehearsed to therest of the class.&nbsp;Keep any negativeopinions to yourself.5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Duringrehearsal, if your part is not being rehearsed,be quiet and patient.6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;No cell phones,or electronic gaming devices allowed(see your handbook)!7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Inthe case of a Mass performance, your 2ndperiod teachers will benotified of your dismissal for a rehearsal.&nbsp;However,you are responsiblefor handing in any assignments andkeeping up with all class material missed that day.8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Itis your responsibility to check the class website for information concerningconcert dates.9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ForChristmas and Fine Arts Day concerts, your performance grade will be assessedbased on your attitude, attire, and readiness.10.&nbsp;Practice roomsand auxiliary spaces are to be used forrehearsal and practice of assignedmaterial only.&nbsp;Points will be takenoff of the student&#8217;s rehearsal grade if these spaces are misused.11.&nbsp;*CONERTATTENDANCE&#8212;you are required toattendone concert (outside of Bishop) per semester.&nbsp;Theconcert may be classical, jazz, or a Broadway Musical (e.g., symphony, opera,musical, solo or ensemble recital) performed by professional or college-levelmusicians.&nbsp;Rock and popular concerts aregenerally not acceptable.&nbsp;A list ofsuggested concerts will be posted at my website under &#8220;Announcements&#8221; or&#8220;Links.&#8221;&nbsp;Concerts not listed at thewebsite may also be possible, providing you ask permission first.&nbsp;After attending the concert, bring yourconcert program with your name signed on it.&nbsp;12.&nbsp;This isa course where the ultimate goal is performance.&nbsp;In order to do well in this class, allstudents mustcommitto the performance dates shown above.&nbsp;&nbsp;Class supplies:<ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">pencil with a good eraser</LI><li style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">blackpocket folder</li></ul>&nbsp;TEXT&#8212;none
