PART 1: INTERPRETIVE-LISTENING 40 answers
In this part of the exam, you will hear:
-5“conversations” from Unit 5
-5 “questions et réponses” from Unit 5

-5 “questions et réponses” from Unit 7
-5“conversations” from Unit 8

You have 20 minutes to listen to the 40 conversations and/or questions.
Conversations.
This part will let you see how well you understand spoken French. You will hear five short conversations for each unit(5-8). For each conversation, read the corresponding question. After you have heard the conversation the second time, select the correct answer and circle the corresponding letter (a, b, c, or d).
Questions and answers.
This part will let you see how well you can handle French questions. You will hear a French girl ask you five questions. On your test, select the MOST LOGICAL answer to each question by circling the corresponding letter (a, b, c, or d). You will hear each question twice.
PART 2: INTERPRETIVE-READING 40 answers
You have 20 minutes to read ads and to answer 40questions.
This part of the proficiency test will help you evaluate how well you understand written French. Although you have just begun your study of French, you can read much more French than you think. This is because French has many words that are similar to English words. If you are not sure what some words mean, just try to guess.
PART 3: VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR 120 answers
You will have 30 minutes to answer 120 multiple choice questions about the following topics:
-verbs (infinitive form; conjugation in present tense of all verbs studied in class this year).
-vocabulary (buildings, how to give directions; house, means of transportation; clothes and accessories; shopping; vacations; expressions with “to have”; expressions of time; negative expressions; food; expressions of quantity

PART 4: CULTURE 60 answers
You will have 20 minutes to answer 60 multiple choice questions about French culture including, but not limited to, French-speaking people and their everyday life.
