How do I know my child(ren) should be attending Brogden Middle School? There are many ways to know which school boundary qualifies your child for the appropriate school. You can check the Durham Public School website at www.dpsnc.net and check the address locater; You may also call the Office of Student Assignment for verification (919-560-2059). What do I need to bring in order to register my child(ren)? If your child(ren) have attended school within the Durham County School System, you will need to bring a copy of: 1. A completed Withdrawal/Transfer Form from previous school. 2. A copy of your childs' schedule from previous school. 3. A copy of your lease/mortgage-it must be current, it must include the name of your landlord and phone number, in addition to the names of people residing with you. 4. Proof of legal guardianship/custody What do I need to register my child(ren) if we're just moving here? You will need to provide the same paperwork as listed for the previous question. However, you will also need to provide: 1. Complete Immunization Records 2. Birth Certificate 3. Social Security Card 4. All school records you have 5. Address/Phone Number of Previous School How do I register my child if we moved here from another country? Any family that needs to enroll their children, but just moved here from a country whose primary language is not English- needs to report to the ESL Office at 201 Main Street. This office will complete all registration forms with the family, and will properly assign the school based on your new address. If we're moving, how do I withdraw my child(ren)? Before you show up at a school to enroll, you must properly withdrawal from the school you have been attending. If your family will be going to a new school-even if it's within the same county- your child must complete a withdrawal form. This form includes valuable information regarding your child's grades, attendance, returned books, or any outstanding fines due. This form also helps the new school properly schedule your child for classes. |
