This program offers service learning, mentoring, internships, year-long
support from adult mentors, and a paid 6-week long summer camp.
2. Star Foundation Inc, Fun in the Sun Summer Camp

Monday through Friday, 8-5, 10 week program, $150 per week. This program
offers arts & crafts, summer reading, creative writing, computer lab, outside
recreation activities, and more.
3. Light of the World Ministry Summer Camp for Kids. June 15-August 7. $75

4. DPS & NCCU's Legal Eagle Law Camp. June 29-July 3rd. $110, lunch not
provided. For Rising 7th-10th grade students that are intersted in law. Cap

5. North Carolina State University's Reading Skills and Speed Reading

6. Duke University's Football Camp. June 15-18th, ages 6-14. Call 919-684-
2635 to register. Cost is $200.
7. North Carolina State University's College of Engineering Summer Camp for
elementary and middle school students. Cost of the program is $250 per week.
Scholarships are available. This is a week-long camp 9-3 each day. For more

25. IBM is teaming with area public schools and nonprofit organizations to
sponsor two offerings of a two-day technology camp for 64 young ladies
entering either the seventh or the eighth grade in the fall of 2009. The
camps will be held at the IBM Research Triangle Park facility July 23 - 24,
2009, and August 6 - 7, 2009. Each camp will contain a different set of
young ladies, so those selected will attend one of the two offerings. Please
share with your mentors and their parents, your church members, and other
community members and friends. Camp applications need to be postmarked by

26. Duke University Medical Center's ADHD Program is offering an Academic
Summer Treatment Program for Middle School Students from August 3rd-14th from
9am-12pm Monday through Friday. This program is for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th
grade students who have a diagnosis of ADHD. It emphasized note-taking
strategies, academic support skills, behavior management, and parent
education. The cost of the program is $700, but there are two need-based
scholarships available that will cover half of tuition ($350). If you have

27. Durham's YMCAis offering a Wellness Program for Girls Ages 12-15 at the
American Tobacco Wellness Center, which will meet Mondays through Thursdays
for 3 hours, for 6 weeks, beginning on June 21st. Cost of the program is
