About The Professional School Counseling Staff

Ms. Womble is our Records Specialist. She serves many purposes in the office 
and is an integral member to the staff. Ms. Womble is directly responsible 
for all cumulative records, registration materials, as well as withdrawing 
procedures. 

Ms. Baylor works with all 6th Graders, as well as Grade 7 Lions & 
Panthers students. She is also in charge of the SAP/504 Processes, and 
serves as Brogden's Liaison for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP).

Ms. Rock works with all 8th Graders, as well as the 7th/8th Grade Combo 
Team, the Flying Tigers. She is also the Testing Coordinator for Brogden.

Ms. Gidney-Cole is the Social Worker for all Brogden Middle School students. 
She also services students at Hillandale Elementary two days a week.

Ms. Cash-Knox is the Career Development Coordinator for 8th grade students 
at Brogden and Githens Middle Schools.  She provides career services to 8th 
grade students through the use of the Futures for Kids website. Students 
will complete their 4-year High School Plans via that website.  In addition, 
students are introduced to a variety of careers through her coordination of 
guest speakers from the professional community.

Mission Of The Department

The mission of the Professional School Counseling Department is to assist 
students and their families in the achievement of academic, personal/social, 
and career-related goals. We provide students with various skills that 
effectively help them make safe and healthy choices. As liaisons between the 
home and school environments, we strive to maintain the connections needed 
to ensure success in all aspects of our students’ lives.
