| Activities for Rising 9th Graders and Parents
for 2008 -09 School Year
COURSE REGISTRATION
If your student is in a WCPSS middle school, the middle school counselor will
assist you with registration during March and April.
If your student is currently in a private school, you will need to contact Ms.
Glover in April for an appointment to register for the 2008-09 school year.
COURSE VERIFICATION
In mid-May, Broughton will mail each 8th grader a Course Verification letter.
Please review the course selections carefully with your student, and notify
Ms. Glover by email of any corrections that need to be made. Please remember
that every 9th grader is part of the IB Middle Years Progam, and is required
to take an arts elective and technology elective!
SCHEDULES
Schedules are mailed to students in August (prior to the August 21st Freshman
Early Start Day).
FRESHMAN EARLY START DAY
Date: Thursday, August 21, 2008
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Students report to CAPS Class/Homeroom at 8:00 a.m. and will have the
opportunity to meet each teacher, socialize with friends and have questions
answered about BHS. No registration is required. Limited transportation is
available by application only. (Please see the link on the homepage.)
PARENT ORIENTATION
Please join us for a Parent Orientation. (Choose ONE to attend.)
