I am a native of Columbia, NC. I moved to Raleigh out of high school and
attended Meredith College. While at Meredith I earned my undergraduate degree
in Psychology and my K-6 teaching licensure. My student teaching was
completed at Holly Springs Elementary where I student taught in second grade.
After student teaching I was hired on their staff and I taught second grade
for two years. I am currently in my third year of teaching but I'm now
teaching third grade at Carver Elementary in Wendell, NC.
When I can find some spare time between teaching and running a small
photography business I enjoy scrapbooking, boating, and spending time with
family and friends.
I will dedicate myself to your children this year and work
towards instilling in each child a true love for learning. Our classroom
environment is one of action, participation, and hands-on involvement. The
emphasis will be on trying your best and taking risks. I will provide a
safe and nurturing environment for my students so they will feel free to
become all that they can be. The only mistake is not to try! Working
together, we can assure that every child feels welcomed and receives the best
education possible. I feel that communication and teamwork between parents
and teachers is vital. I will do my best to keep you informed and involved in
your child’s classroom life.
