About The Teacher

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University and earned my
Master’s degree in the Middle Grades program at East Carolina University. In
2007 I earned the title of Natioal Board Certified teacher. I have taught
eighth grade social studies for 8 years and enjoy the age of
my students and the content area very much. I am so excited about the
upcoming year and look forward to getting to know each of you. If you need
to reach me please do not hesitate to call or email.

Eighth grade social studies focuses on North Carolina History and how the
history of our state fits into the history of the United States. We will
begin the year with a study of North Carolina’s geography and progress
through Exploration, Colonization of North America, and continue through the
Civil War and Reconstruction.
