Students With Positive Achievement Patterns

Students with positive achievement patterns are resilient individuals who have the following:

* A positive sense of purpose, with a strong motivation to succeed

* A positive future focus and high expectations with strong support

* Exposure to hobbies/high interest activities

* An ability to take on extra challenges with the belief that they could succeed

* A sense of autonomy - positive feelings about capabilities, ability to overcome challenges

* Social competance - ability to establish positive relationships

* Problem-solving skills - ability to connect with supportive people and places and resources, to learn from past learning (McElrath and Smith, 2005)
