Butterfly Garden Photos

Before starting our project,
we focused on 3 main questions
for inquiry-What is a butterfly
garden? What does a butterfly
garden need? What attracts
butterflies?
After researching, we
were ready to begin our very own
butterfly garden.
Miss. Wooten, Mrs.
Waldkirch and a few other staff
members helped prepare our part
of the Earth for planting.
We were fortunate to have
two people from the NC Museum of
Natural Sciences visit with our
Art/Literacy Club. They taught
us how and where to plant. Their
presentation was informative, and
it was a very nice day for
planting fun.

We are hopeful we listened
well so we will have a beautiful
butterfly habitat.

Many plants were purchased
through a UTOTES grant. Some of
the names of our plants are:
Seaside Goldenrod, Savanna Rose,
Purple Coneflower, Rudbeckia,
Black-eyed Susan, Cardinal Flower
and Southern Sundrop.
