This will be my 7th year in North Carolina Public Schools. I received a
teaching degree as well as a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University
of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have taught 7th grade language arts,
middle grades reading and social studies, kindergarten, and have been a para
educator in grades k-5. My family has plenty to discuss at the dinner table
because we are all educators! My father, who inspired me to teach, is a
retired administrator with 42 years of service in North Carolina public
education. My husband is a teacher and coach in New Hanover County and his
mother is a professor at Rowan University in New Jersey. We have a beautiful
little girl named Caroline. She will be two in September and she keeps us
busy! I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade this year and I look forward to
a fantastic year.
