Articulation Practice

***When practicing articulation always start with the syllable, then once you
have mastered that, move on to words, then phrases/senteces, reading and
finally conversation.  It is important to follow this hierarchy when
practicing articulation.*** 

Beginning /R/ words
* Make the 2 words sound as different as possible
1. Ride vs. wide
2. Rug vs. wug
3. Rake vs. wake
4. Ram vs. wam
5. Roof vs. woof

Other /R/ words
1. /er/  Hammer, Sucker, Flower, Giraffe
2. /ar/  Car, Guitar, Arm, Part
3. /air/ Bear, Parrot, Chair, Care
4. /ear/ Near, Fear, Earring, Tear
5. /or/  Four, Horn, Morning, Orange

/R/ Blend words
1. /Cr/  Crib, Cry
2. /Br/  Broom, Breakfast
3. /Dr/  Dress, Drum
4. /Fr/  Fries, Frog
