School Safety

As part of our continuing commitment to safety, we ask parents to help us
make our building and grounds as safe as possible.

* Always enter and leave the building through the main entrance.  All other
entrances are kept locked.

* When visiting, come to the main office, get a sticker, and sign in.

* If you bring your child to school, drop off and pick up your child only in
the designated areas.  School personnel provide supervision in these areas.

(If you are participating in classroom drop-off or pick-up be sure to obtain
the appropriate identification badge.)

* Always check your child in and out of school through the office.

* Obey all traffic signs and travel slowly.

* Refrain from cell phone use during pick-up and drop-off.

The School Safety Committee meets monthly to provide a healthy and safe
environment for our school community.  They participate in trainings and
coordinate school-wide safety drills.  Please do not hesitate to bring any
concerns to my attention.

*Fire Drills are held once a month.

*Tornado drills are done each year during tornado season, and lock down
drills are practiced several times a year.

*Evacuation Plan:  We have an extensive evacuation plan for our students and
staff in case an emergency occurs which requires that we leave the building
and not return.  It has been written and practiced by our staff so we can
execute it quickly and efficiently.  In case of an emergency, you would be
notified if relocation became necessary.  That is why it is essential to
keep the office and your child's teacher notified if contact information
     changes during the school year!
