January 4, 2010

Dear 4th Grade AIG Parents,

As you know, the New Year has brought with it some shifting in the 4th grade at Creekside.  We are very excited about the changes as they have reduced our class sizes which will allow us to give our students increased individual attention.

The AIG students will be taught by both of us, Ms. Dunevant and Ms. Slavinsky.  We will share all of the AIG students for Math and for Literacy.  We will trade students between us for unit topics, novel studies, and sometimes for particular lessons.

This week, we are splitting the students up and spending time going over routines, reviewing topics covered this school year, and getting to know each other.  We have benchmark testing this Thursday, Friday, and next Monday.  For this week we will hand out homework in class and have students write their assignments in their planner.  You may also check our websites (click on ‘Teachers’ on Creekside’s website) for updates on homework.

We are both very excited to have the opportunity to work with you and you child.  Please feel free to contact either or both of us if you have any questions or information you would like to share with us regarding your child.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Chrissy Slavinsky and Jess Dunevant

I have given students all of their Math and Literacy homework for the week.  Wednesday's Math homework is optional and will count for an extra credit grade if completed.  Spelling homework is due Thursday since we don't have School on Wednesday.
