WELCOME TO TRACK 4 ~ 6TH GRADE - 2009-2010 - 1st Quarter Social Studies
I know you are excited and you should be!!! Middle School is a very exciting
experience! (I should know, I've been in 6th grade for over 16 years!) We
have so much fun getting organized, learning, meeting new teachers, new
friends, and developing responsibility! We expect a lot out of you in 6th
grade, so make up your mind to do your very BEST right from the start!
To begin the school year, we'll learn about maps and globes, latitude and
longitude, continents, oceans, and map skills! Then we'll travel to South
America, Ancient Greece and Rome. This year you'll learn many interesting
things about the geography and cultures of Europe, Russia and South America.
Stick around, there are so many exciting facts to learn!
The first few days of school we will go over my expectations and class
rules. I expect my sstudents to come to class ready to participate and
LEARN! I'll go over the materials and items you need to be successful in
class and send home a green sheet to be signed by students and parents.
Remember to follow directions, be on time, USE your brain, and YOU will make
history! Plan to make this your best year ever! It's easy if you TRY!
Effort is ENDLESS!
BE PREPARED! Always bring your AGENDA, Social Studies SPIRAL (single
subject - 70 pages for SS only!), and Table of Contents (TOC) to class, PLUS
pencils and paper! I'll go over all of this the first week!
Remember to check out schoolnotes.com weekly. I'm looking forward to seeing
your smiling faces!
That's all for now! I look forward to meeting you and engaging your brain
EVERY DAY!
Take care and remember...
SOCIAL STUDIES IS OUR WORLD!
