The new Social Studies teacher is here. I am excited about teaching Social Studies this year at Durant Road Middle School. This year we will explore social studies in an innovative and unique manner. Currently, I am using a different website from this one. I want you to make note of 2 websites I will be using throughout the year to teach Social Studies.

 

1) http://miles.onfizz.org/miles - This website is the most imporant. It is our class blog. I will upload any document, instruction sheet, rubric, project, etc. that I hand out in class. So if you miss class or forget to take home project guidelines then go to this webpage to download your own copy. This website also contains a calendar with a listing of everything we do in class.

 

2) http://miles.onfizz.org - This website is the video website I will be using in class. Throughout the year, both the students and I will create videos that I will upload on this website. From music videos to class openers to student generated videos, you can find them all right here!

 

Grading is based on the following categories:

Homework: 15%

Class work: 20%

Quizzes: 30%

Tests/Projects: 35%
