Your children did extremely well on their 4th grade EOGs. Ms. Heuts and Mrs. Scales-V are very proud of their hard work, effort, and determination. There are a few students that will retest next week. We should have final overall percentages after retesting is complete. Thanks to everyone for sending in breakfast and snack items as well as juice last week. Students do need to remember we are still in school and academics are at the forefront. We are conducting end of the year assessments and closing out our social studies and science units.
The Rite of Passage was a huge success!!! Everyone looked incredible all dressed up. All the students looked like 5th graders ready for middle school. Lots of dancing, eating, laughter, and fun filled the exciting night.
Our countdown to the long awaited OBX field trip is here. We are finalizing bus assignments and taking care of last minute details. Please make sure to review information packets, especially what to pack and rules/regulations. Everyone has worked hard all year to make this trip happen (teachers, parents, and students) and we want it to be successful, fun, and enjoyable for all that attend. If you have any lingering questions please don't hesitate to ask. We will have a final parent letter come home with reminders, updates, etc... next week.
While students are preparing for our trip in class, finishing up our social studies for the year, and to continue their growth in reading Mrs. Scales-V would like each student to purchase one of the following books based on a series written by Carole Marsh:
The Mystery of the Graveyard of the Atlantic
The Mystery at Kill Devil Hills
The Mystery of the Lost Colony
The Mystery of Blackbeard the Pirate
Hopefully by reading the books students will become more interested in some of the places they will visit while on the trip. In class activities and discussions will take place based on all of the books. Books can be purchased at Barnes & Noble, amazon.com, Borders Books, and Teach Me Store.
