How often does each students have music class?

Each student comes to music class once a week for 45 minutes.  Each 9 weeks, 
some classes come twice a week.

What instruments do students get ot play?

Many!  A variety of drums, woodblocks, tambourines, KEYBOARDS, 
autoharps, etc. etc.

Does Freeman have a band?

No. In New Hanover County, band is offered in 6th-12th grade.

Does Freeman have a chorus?

Yes!  All 4th and 5th grade students are eligible to audition for chorus.

When does my child learn to play recorder?

4th grade is the main year students play the recorder.

Is my child required to purchase a recorder?

No, recorders are provided by the school.  However, if you would like to 
purchase a recorder for your child, the cost is $5.50.  If a recorder is 
lost, stolen, or damaged there will be a fee of $5.50 to replace it.
