We believe that most of our optional FUNdraisers are fun, especially for the
children. McDonald's Night, Skate Night, and Fall Festival, to name a
few, are really enjoyed by the children. When children are able to play
together, they build friendships which allows them to work better together in
the classroom.
The Original Artworks gives each child an opportunity to create a
lasting example of their own artwork that they can then present to family
members as holiday gifts. Parents enjoy watching the progression of their
child's ability over the years and buying these items because they really do
make wonderful grandparent gifts.
The parents and teachers enjoy working together in informal situations.
This sense of camaraderie comes full circle to benefit the children via open
communication and also the Teacher Grants which provides extra
materials in the classroom.
All our work pays off in other PTA-funded events for the children: Red
Ribbon Week, D.A.R.E. Program, A/R End-of-Year Party, 5th grade graduation
party, and contributions to the Foster Grandparent program. We
also pitch in with school improvement as needed.
