 The first ever student vs faculty basketball game at Heritage Middle School was a huge success. Twenty teachers played against our girls and boys basketball teams and both groups did a fabulous job. There were some amazing moves on the court, including some 3-point shots and incredible defensive plays by the teachers. Despite the full team of teachers on the court at the end of the game, the athletes still beat the staff by a small margin. Congratulations to the students for playing an outstanding game against their teachers.
The Basketball Committee members from Student Council did an excellent job planning for this event; they started in December and worked every Friday through February 10th. They designed a ticket sale spreasheet, made posters, sold tickets, set up for the game, welcomed spectators, sold refreshments and offered prizes. The students did an amazing job and should be extremely proud of themselves.
A special thank you to the teacher-advisors of Student Council who helped the students plan the event as well took charge of the multitude of details the day of the game.
We are also extremely thankful for all of the parents and staff who volunteered their time to help out with the event.
Thanks to everyone's hard work, Student Council was able to donate $400 towards the Backback Buddies program and $800 towards bleachers for the HMS fields.
This year's event was a lot of fun so we hope to make this a tradition at HMS. |
