Highcroft Husky Art

Fifth grade students
viewed examples of
pop art from the 1960's
and discussed pop culture.

They chose images that
represent pop culture in 2009,
and painted them in
colors that "pop".

Second Grade "Big Bees"

Students printed
the flowers with
paint and sponges,
then tore paper to
create the bee body.
Details were added with
crayon and as a finishing
touch, glitter pollen was
added. The final work is
a mixed media delight!

First Grade Royal Self-Portraits

First Grade students viewed
portraits of historical rulers
and then imagined what they would
look like as a queen, king, prince
or princess. They used paint,
oil pastels and a touch of glitter.

Asian Elephants

Students learned about the
decorated elephants in
India that can be seen
in parades and for
special holidays.
They drew and then
decorated their own
elephant, then glued it to
a tissue painted
background for a
beautiful display.

Kindergarten O'Keeffe Flowers

Students viewed the flower
paintings of the American
Artist, Georgia O'Keeffe.
They then drew and painted
their own amazing flower.
