Kindergarten classes are to work on letters and sounds at home. Once your
child brings home baggie books, he/she should reread the book at home and
return it to school the following day.
First and second grade classes are to read nightly. Most nights the children
will bring home a baggie book which should be reread at home and returned to
school the following day. Please be sure your child is practicing the
retelling piece along with reading the story.
There are a list of high freqency words on the grade level pages. These are
words your child needs to know by the end of that grade. Knowing these words
at a quick pace will allow your child to spend time figuring out more
challenging words rather than the words they see so often in reading. Have
your child practice reading these words. Make flash cards or you can also
play games with the words to make practicing fun. KEEP IT FUN!!
