*Read to your child nightly. When finished with a story, ask your child to
tell you about what happened in the correct sequence
*Use flash cards to practice letters/sounds, sight words (go to edhelper.com
and search sight words lists, actvities, books, etc.)
*Practice recognizing and spelling classmates' names (use the class list I
sent home)
*Allow your child to explore writing by giving them a space to keep different
types of papers, pens, markers, stencils, dry erase boards, magnadoodles
*Have your child help you write the grocery list each week
*Practice cutting by having your child help you clip coupons from the paper
*Find a pen pal (family member, out of town friend, etc.) and have your child
draw pictures or write to him/her
*Allow your child to play with other children to help develop social skills-
playdates are great teaching tools
