Welcome to my kindergarten class! Kindergarten is a very exciting and fun
year. It is a year where children will grow developmentally, socially, and
academically, and the growth is so rewarding to see! I look forward to
working together to help your child have a successful kindergarten year.
I have taught in Wake County for nine years, eight have been in
kindergarten,
and one was in first grade. I have B.A. in English Literature and a Master
of Teaching degree, both from the University of Virginia.
I feel very fortunate to teach kindergarten! I love experiencing all of
the "school firsts" with the children...the first word they learn, the first
book they read, their first fieldtrip, and many more.
I look forward to working with you and your child during the 2008-2009 school
year.
I believe it is my job to teach each child to his/her full potential. I hope
to provide a positive school experience that will help to instill a love of
learning. During the kindergarten year, I expect the children to grow
socially and academically at a developmentally appropriate pace, and I expect
children to learn while having a fun and exciting time.
