1. Read to your child every night, and have them read appropriate books to you. 2. Give your child a target word such as "the", and have them circle as many as they can find on a newspaper or magazine page. This can be done with a target letter as well. 3. Play concentration (memory) or bingo with sight words, numbers, letters, or whatever skill you would like your child to work on. You can make up these simple games yourself. 4. Give your child stickers, and have him or her write a sticker story. 5. Give your child a clipboard, paper, and pencil, and have them find words around the house ( they will find them everywhere, you will be surprised). 6. Give your child any kind of counters (pennies, paper clips, etc.), and play a counting game, addiiton game or subtraction game. 7. Play house or restaurant, and help your child create a menu. 8. You can do number 5 at the supermarket as well. Or, you can have your child write your grocery list by practicing sounding out and writing the words. 9. Use snacks, such as M&Ms or cereal to sort- sort by color, shape, etc, then eat! 10. Have fun!
