Physical Education Program Statement
Physical Education at Highcroft Elementary School is a necessary and integral
part of each child’s education. It is more than recess and a time to play.
It’s a time for learning. The primary aim is to help children improve their
movement skills and to feel good about themselves as movers, so they will
learn to feel comfortable participating in new and different activities.
Every effort is made to help children experience success in physical
education so they will enjoy and participate in physical activity both at
school and at home. By providing children with a good foundation of skill
development and positive attitudes toward themselves and physical activity,
they will be well on their way to becoming adults who enjoy the benefits of
physically active and healthy lifestyles.
