Hi,

 

This week was another fabulous week. We wrapped up our team time lessons about place value/base ten blocks and we will start our new groups next Thursday. We will be focusing on money for the next few weeks. For our reading focus lessons we have made connections to non-fiction texts and identified key vocabulary in our reading. In centers we worked on math, poetry, social studies, writing and grammar, specifically prefixes and suffixes. This week in math we worked on our quarterly assessment. We are just about done with this. In writing we are still editing our own writing. In social studies we talked about holidays, cultures, and traditions.

 

I saw many of you at the book fair. Don't worry it is not too late to buy books. We will have our preview day on Monday and our purchase day on Thursday. Please support our book fair! Also don't forget that next Wed we have the day off.

 

Our in house field trip, What's the matter was today and it truly was outstanding. Your kids have some information on what they did. The presenter was amazed at how much our kids knew about the subject. The highlight was making and eating ice cream and they also have a mysterious substance to take home with them. Ask them about it! Have a great weekend. Watch out it is supposed to be very cold tomorrow am.
