Upcoming Units of Study:
Math – we will revisit geometry this week. Students will learn about flips, slides and turns, and various types of patterns.
Reading – we will not have a story this week due to the Cog-At test. Students will learn a reading strategy called “STARS” to help them with reading comprehension and test taking. They will practice the strategy during class and will bring it a story home to practice for homework. We are also learning about cause and effect relationships and drawing conclusions and making inferences.
Writing – we will not have spelling words this week. The students will be learning about learning logs this week. Learning logs are a way for students to write about and reflect on what they are learning. (this was carry over from last week…we did not get to the learning logs lessons due to an assembly and early release)
Social Studies and Science – I was so impressed with the creativity the students used when completing their objects in the sky unit projects. I can tell a lot of effort was out into these projects. We will finish the Objects in the Sky unit this week. Students will take an assessment later this week.
