Students and Parents,
Welcome to a new school year at LANEY HIGH SCHOOL!!!! GO BUCS. I am very
excited about returning to Laney after being on extended maternity leave for
eight months.
As the first few weeks of school get underway, here's what to expect:
- Students will receive the following forms:
1. Rules and Expectations
2. Contact Information and Accountibility Contract
3. Syllabus (also located on Website)
4. Students are assigned text book (this may take a couple weeks, the school
did not receive enough books and have ordered more) * book is also available
on-line
We, as a class, have a lot to cover in just nine weeks; hundreds of
thousands of years to cover!!! It is important that you are present
everyday. In order to cover the material and meet all of the North Carolina
Goals and Objectives, we must move at a quick pace so attendence is key!
Keep up with assignments, reading, and important quiz/test dates as posted
in your syllabus.
Be ready, your first Quiz will be Wednesday, Sept. 3!

Classes will not follow the testing schedule on the syllabus; due to re-
examination of unit tests vs. chapter tests, the students and I have decided
to adopt two/three chapter tests instead of unit tests to make the amount of
material more managable. Tests will be announced in advanced and updated on
the syllabus.
