Why would I take an Art 1 class?
Art1 is an elective course that is required for students who are interested in continuing their studies in other visual arts classes, such as ceramics, sculpture or painting and drawing. Art1 establishes a foundation that enables students to better understand the structure, principles, terminology and materials that are used in the creation of art.Back to Top
Homework is not assigned on a regular basis. All homework assignments are due the following class day unless instructed otherwise. Students are asked to review any reading assignments, notes or handouts covered in class on a daily basis.Students can also take class assignments home in order to complete projects within the designated time provided.Back to Top
Will there be written test ? And why ?
Yes. A quiz is given whenever a new chapter is completed. Mondays and Wednesdays are art quiz days. Quizzes are another way for students to demonstrate their understanding of the assignments and techniques learned. Midterm and final exams are the only test given in art1 in class. Students will be given advance notice of any quiz.Back to Top
No. Working with clay or creating ceramics is not part of this class. Students that successfully pass Art 1 can request to take a ceramics or sculpture class.Back to Top
Extra credit assignment guidelines will be distributed in all of my Art classes.Students are encouraged to complete pre-approved artwork or written projects for extra credit.Back to Top
