All Laney students need to have an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) form on file with the school for them to be granted online access on any computer on campus. This form may be obtained in the guidance records office and must be signed by a parent or guardian. After this form is on file a student will be assigned a username and password with which to login and access our network. If you try to log on and the network does not let you there can be several reasons for this. Depending on what error message you get when you login unsuccesfully determines the reason for denied access. If the error message says: "your account has been disabled or expired" that means you have been locked out for one of two reasons... 1.You do not have an AUP on file. 2.someone unsuccessfully tried to login under your username with the wrong password and they tried this three times. They may be permanently locked out of the network at any time due to innappropriate internet use on their part or allowing another student to use their log in information to gain network access. At times, they may have their account temporarily locked
