For Parents

The media center gladly accepts any and all donations of reading
materials, which will benefit our students and faculty at Laney. In
particular fiction leisure reading materials, any items concerning
technology and computer applications, and science titles are sorely needed.

Please contact Mrs. Harrill or Mrs. Niven at 910-350-2089x227 or simply
drop off your items at the main office or in the media center. Thank you.

Laney Library is always looking to host a variety of creative events that
will expand and enrich the learning experiences of our students. If you are
involved in an endeavor, about which it would benefit our students to learn,
please contact Mrs. Niven at 910-350-2089x227.

All students benefit greatly from exposure to print rich environments and
technology. Please encourage your child to visit the New Hanover County
Public Library, as well as our own Laney Library. You may obtain a library
card on your child's behalf if they are under 18 years of age. Doing so
will greatly expand the resources and information available to them.

The simple act of helping them become familiar and comfortable with
accessing library resources will greatly enhance their potential for success
in school in all subject areas, with their senior project, and in life
beyond Laney High School.

Happy Reading!
