This is my 33rd year of teaching (2007 - 2008), a profession I enjoy
everyday. In August, 1975, I was assigned to New Hanover High School,
teaching Environmental Ecology and World Geography.
At the end of my first year of teaching, I was assigned to Laney High School
when it opened in August 1976. Currently, I teach Honors United States
History (Flex) and United States History (Second Block).
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 1975 with a double major in
History and Social Studies.
I am also the Student Council Advisor and Student Activity Director, as well
as a member of the School Leadership Team.
The mission of Emsley A. Laney High School is to prepare all students for
the future by striving for excellence in pursuit of a quality education.
