Grading Policy
Homework/Classwork – 10%
Quizzes – 25%
Tests – 65%
All students begin with a 100 as a HW/CW grade. It is expected that all
students will participate in every assignment during and outside of class.
Failure to do so will result in a lowered HW/CW grade. Late assignments will
be accepted with a penalty on the grade.
All quiz dates are announced in advanced. Since quizzes are a precursor to
the test, no make-up quizzes are allowed. If you miss a quiz with an excused
absence the test grade from that chapter will replace the missing grade. The
lowest quiz grade from each nine weeks will be dropped at the end of the
grading period.
Like quizzes, all tests are announced in advanced. If you are in class the
day of a test, you are expected to take the test with your classmates. If
you miss a test with an excused absence you have two weeks to make it up.
Tests will only be made-up after school and prior arrangements have been made.
Tardy Policy
If you are not in your seat when the bell rings then you are considered
tardy. Everyone will get one free tardy. As a result of a second tardy, you
must serve a lunch detention within one week. If you happen to be tardy
three or more times you will be required to attend an afterschool detention
with me. No notes will be accepted for a tardy – all tardiness is unexcused.
