I have been teaching at Laney for over twenty years and have taught grades
nine through twelve. This semester I have one honors sophomore class, an on-
level sophomore class, and one senior class. I have received National Board
Certification and am currently serving as chairperson for the English
department. I am a partnership teacher with the University of North Carolina
at Wilmington; therefore, I will be working with a student intern during the
semester. Mr. William Fassbender is completing his work on his Masters in
the Art of Teaching degree and will be working with my classes for several
months.
I sincerely want each child to be successful, and I make it my personal
mission to provide a safe, orderly classroom environment which is conducive
to learning. While Thursday afternoons are my official tutoring days, I am
available before and after school on most days.
