I am a native speaker of Spanish. I was born in Santiago, Chile and I first
came to this country as an exchange student.
I am certified in English, Spanish and I also hold a degree as an ESL teacher
from the University of Chile. I also have an endorsement as a mentor for new
teachers. I love teaching and I care and respect my students who in return,
seem to feel the same for me. I have been honored as a Laney Teacher of the
Year,New Hanover Secondary Teacher of the Year, New Hanover Co. Teacher of
the Year, Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year and North Carolina Teacher "Who Cares
about Kids". My teaching experience ranges from Middle School to College
level Languages. So, as you can see, once the children come in my class, they
will be taught by someone who is extremely proud of the opportunity to help
with their education.
My mission is to facilitate the mastery of language skills and the
understanding of the Spanish culture while encouraging students to become
enthusiastic learners who share the responsability for the success of daily
classroom activities.
