About The Teacher

Mr.Williamson graduated from Vance Senior High School in 1987 before earning
his B.A. in English and Radio-Television-Motion Pictures at UNC-Chapel Hill
in 1991. While taking graduate courses at East Carolina University, he fell
in love and eventually married the woman of his dreams (Susan). After TEN
years of marriage, Mr. Williamson and his wife are the proud parents of two
wonderful girls, Natalie (8) and Molly (6).

After working various jobs, Mr. Williamson finally chose teaching as his
profession because he believes it is a job that matters and impacts the lives
of others. He spent the first seven years of his teaching career at his old
high school (now called Northern Vance High School)in Henderson,
N.C. The decision to relocate to Wilmington was prompted by his youngest
daughter Molly's diagnosis of autism. Susan researched for months in an
effort to determine where Molly could receive the best help, and the New
Hanover County school system was at the top of the list. So, with
determination and luck, Mr Williamson found a teaching position with Laney
High in Wilmington, N.C., and moved the entire family to their new coastal
home.

Currently, Mr. Williamson teaches English I at Laney High and lives in
Historic Downtown Wilmington with his family.

Mission For The Class

Team Name: THE EXPLORERS

Our class mission is simple: to strive for excellence despite the obstacles.
We will dare to believe in ourselves and our abilities. We will put forth our
best efforts in all that we do. Failure is not an option. Laziness,
ignorance, disrespect, and dishonesty are not welcome in our classroom. We
will work together as a team, and we will grow as a team. In the end, we will
leave the classroom confident that we grew as individuals and as a team.
