READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS

Whether you love or hate to read, reading is an essential skill to master.
Reading requires more than just being able to recite words; reading means
understanding what you read. The more one reads, the better one becomes. My
biggest advice to my students is to simply read as much as you can each and
everyday. Read books, short stories, news articles, poems, etc. You can start
small and work your way up. Reading comprehension is one of the skills that we
focus on in English I. The links below provide ways to help you increase your
reading comprehension skills. Reading = thinking = SUCCESS!

Reading Practice for Various Grade Levels -- This site offers practice
instruction for various grade levels. Remember, many students are not reading
at the grade level, and this can cause frustration for students because the
literature becomes increasingly more difficult as one moves up the educational
ladder. This site can help those students who are reading below their grade
level. Click below for more.
