Grading Policy

Classwork will be assigned daily. If a student is unable to finish the 
classwork during the allotted time, he or she may finish it for homework and 
return it the next day. It is very important that classwork is completed.  
Classwork allows students to practice those skills that he or she learned 
during the day and ensures that they are proficient with these skills before 
moving onto the next concept.  We will discuss classwork before going onto 
the next lesson.

Honors students will receive homework in addition to classwork.  Homework is 
neccessary for students to be able to progress to advance problem solving 
levels.  

The students average will be composed of the following:

REGULAR                                  HONORS
QUIZZES 25%                              QUIZZES 20%
CLASSWORK/PROBLEM SETS 25%               CLASSWORK 20%
TESTS 50%                                HOMEWORK 10%
                                         TESTS 50%

MIDTERM 15% of final nine weeks average
EOC 25% of final semester average

QUIZZES
Students will be one to two quizzes per unit.

TESTS
Students will be given a test over the current on Wednesdays or Mondays.

CLASSWORK/PROBLEM SETS
Classwork will consist of warm-ups, group activites, problem solving 
activities, class participation and guided independent practice.  Classwork 
will be assigned daily. For AFM problem sets will be due the day of the test.

MIDTERM
A cumulative multiple choice midterm will be given at the end of the grading 
period.

EOC
Geometry has a required state exam that counts as 25% of the semester 
average.  All students are expected to be proficient on this exam and all 
efforts will be made to ensue that students receive quality instruction 
directly related the curriculum.  AFM will have a required teacher made exam 
that is 25% of the semester aver.  

ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to be in class and on time each day.  90%-100% of a 
student's grade is based on in class activities.  Students will be allowed 
to make up missed work, tests and quizzes for EXCUSED ABSENCES ONLY.  

In the event that a students should miss a test, he or she will be expected 
to stay after school during tutoring hours the following Tuesday.  All 
missed work must be made up within 1 week of the absence.

ID'S 
Students are to wear their ID visible around their neck at all times.  This 
is school board policy.  Refusal to do so will result in administrative 
actions.
