As the counselor, I also provide classroom guidance lessons. I go into classes and discuss issues that are relevant to that grade level. For example, third grade is a big year for testing. Before EOGs I will try to get into the third grade classes and teach them test taking skills, stress management, and study skills. All of the lessons fall under the broad topics of social and emotional well-being, career development, and academic success. Throughout the year, I will be going into all the classes to do various lessons based upon the guidance curriculum or topics requested from the teacher.
