We are starting our writing instruction in class this week. Each day we are
addressing an aspect of writing. Next week we will start rewriting the WCPSS
on demand prompt students wrote about a week ago.
Students must take the second AR fiction book of choice test by Friday Sept.
4th. If the test is not taken by that date, students have been informed they
will recieve a zero. As soon as books are completed students are able to test.
Homework:
Monday 24th - punctuation/ grammar sheet and read
Tuesday 25th - punctuation sheet and read
Wednesday 26th - read
Thursday 27th - read and study for the grammar/punctuation test
Friday 28th - test

Monday, August 17th - Friday, August 21st
Students checked out a new AR reading book last Friday. They will take an AR
computer test on their book of choice as soon as they are done. All testing
must be completed by: September 2nd. Students should be reading nightly at
their own pace.
Homework:
Monday: Punctuation w/s and start working on their project. All students were
given rubrics for the project last week.
Tuesday: Complete #3 on the project rubric & punctuation worksheet
Wednesday: Complete #4 on the project rubric & punctuation worksheet
Thursday: Complete #5 on the project rubric (Bind the project at home; it is
due in class tomorrow.)

Students will check out a new AR book based on their ZPD (zone of proximal
development) established by the STARS reading test. Students are expected to
be reading their books during homeroom, time provided in class, and at home
as needed.
