Week of May 20:

el lunes:  Quiz tomorrow over 5A and 5B vocabulary // email me your radio broadcasts if you haven't already marne.patana@gmail.com // Is all your homework done from last week (cuaderno p. 92, 94, 97, 100, 101) and columns?

el martes: do the first two pages (front and back) of the review packet given today after the quiz // listening to our newscasts tomorrow!


el miércoles:  1st block:  Complete your conjugations of your verbs in the Present progressive and past progressive - yo form translated too.  // new packet: p. 102 (vocabulary) and p. 106 -identify and underline the verbs in the sentences (1-13) 

2nd block:  new packet: p. 102 and p.106 -identify and underline the verbs in the sentences (1-13) AND then conjugate the verbs into the Preterit tense!

el jueves:


el viernes:  Seniors...  complete the review packer for the Final exam and turn it in to me before you take your Final  (1st period will go to room 8406-Ms. Kimball  at 7:25 AND 3rd period will go to rm 8411- Mr. Killen at 11:15)

el lunes:  Complete part B of worksheet- conjugating the verbs into the preterite or imperfect (already indicated in part A and reviewed in class)  // 2 more columns complete? should have 5 for chapter 5A

el martes:  p. 93 and 98 in Cuaderno  // 2 more columns for a total of 7  // quiz tomorrow over Preterit vs Imperfect (review the reasons why and do your homework to prepare for the quiz  // (did you turn in your conjugations of the 3 "sole" verbs and 5 "y-sole verbs we did at the beginning of class today?- if not, turn it in tomorrow)

el miércoles:  Cuaderno p. 94 and 92 

el jueves:  Students are working on their Radio announcement in class// 5B vocab columns -3

el lunes:  Show and tell! Bring your favorite toy (or picture of it) and tell us about it and your childhood.  ( My name is..., When I was... years old..., personality, use to do, talk about favorite toy, describe it, who gave it to you (IOP), what was your family or best friend like, what did you used to do, did you get along (reciprocal verb)  // if you did not finish your paragraph describing yourself as a child (with a picture) finish that tonight and turn it in first thing tomorrow

el martes:  p.86 - reviewing Imperfect // test tomorrow over the vocabulary from 4A & B, Imperfect tense, reciprocal verbs (each other -llevarse) and IOP's

el miércoles: Get your Interim signed by parent/guardian tonight!!! // On a piece of paper, write down the endings for the Present, Preterit (including "z" endings) and Imperfect tenses.  We are starting to review for the final as we're in Chapter 5: natural disasters and injuries : )

el jueves:  3 columns of the 5A vocabulary - be sure to quiz yourself in the 2nd and 3rd columns

el viernes:  Complete filling out the FUYJI monster // Then complete the first 6 conjugations from each of the 3 sections on the worksheet -using the FUYJI  monster to help you

el jueves:  Bring a picture of you when you were in Elementary school. // Cuanderno p. 77 and 78 -imperfect tense- (quiz tomorrow over the Imperfect tense!)

el viernes:  cuaderno p. 79 and 82 // are the 8 columns complete? // we will finish answering the questions/writing our paragraphs in class on Monday

el lunes:  How much did you spend on clothing in the different countries?  Convert what you spent into dollars and then subtract from 1200.  Did you overspend?  Add up you sales.  How much did your store make?  // Is your commercial done and sent to marne.patana@gmail.com?

el martes:  Write down 4 different chores that you did not do and 4 different excuses why they didn't get done... using the preterit tense.  ie:  Yo no ____________ porque (tener que, poder, estar, and a verb of your choice) _________________________.  // quiz tomorrow over the irregular preterite verbs:  ir, ser, dar, ver, hacer, tener, estar, poder
 
el miércoles:  Complete the worksheet Bubble Trouble if you have not done so.  Review the irregular preterit verbs and Direct Object Pronouns- quiz tomorrow. // prepare for your skits!  Goal: 2 min. total of speaking giving excuses why you couldn't be somewhere using the past tenses and dop's

Week of  April 15:

el lunes: Chores due tomorrow!  (did you complete Friday's homework? p. 54 and 55?)

el martes:   p. 57 in Cuaderno- irregular verbs in the Preterit (tener, estar, poder, hacer) 
 
el miércoles:  redo p. 57 in the cuaderno... is it in the preterit tense?  irregular endings and stems.  you have these notes!  they are with the fu-fu verbs // meet in the media center tomorrow!  (beginning of class)  Bring tri-fold if you have it.

el jueves:  Bring all of your materials tomorrow for your fashion project. We are practicing to sell our line of clothing tomorrow during class (rehearsal).  Everything has to be done for Monday... BEGINNING of class!   ("look book" with paragraphs describing the outfits- in Spanish, store front with requirements, and the 30 sec. commercial (in Spanish). 

el viernes:  do you need to make any changes to your clothing line/store?  Test grade on Monday!

el lunes:  study for your verb test!  (definition only) These are the same verbs that we took tests on last sememster- front of the verb list- and made flashcards of.

el martes:  Cuaderno packet 3A do pages 49 and 50 // Answer the questions 9-16 on the Midterm worksheet. -correct them if necessary. // You have your list of chores now!  They are due on Tuesday, April 16.
 
el miércoles:  p. 51 in your "cuaderno"  and 2 more columns (total of 6)

el jueves:  Cuaderno- p. 52 do half... any 6 fill in the blanks  and p. 56 - conjugating ser and ir in the preterite tense. (fui, fuiste...)  // complete columns (8)

el viernes:   Chores due Tuesday, April 16 // Cuaderno p. 54 (Reading advertisement and answering the questions) and p. 55 (DOP's- lo, la, los, las)  MONDAY:  Go to the Media center at the beginning of class!

el miércoles:  Front and back of the Midterm review sheet  // review your flashcards of your verbs... all of them.  We're having a test over the front of the verb list (the ones we've already been tested on) on Tuesday, April 9. (80 verbs- definition )

Week of  March 18:

el lunes:  Bottom of p. 44 and the top of p. 45 from your workbook packet //review the clothing and accessories from vocab list (7a/b) - quiz tomorrow // review the preterit endings/ conjugations- quiz tomorrow

el martes:  Cuaderno packet 2B: p. 42 and 46 // study the preterite!- quiz tomorrow
 
el miércoles:  Practice (write) down questions and answers that you would ask while shopping with a friend.  (Do you like this shirt or that t-shirt?, Do prefer this red hat or the yellow one?, Did you buy the green pants or the blue ones?)  You will need to each use at least one of the following:  Demonstrative adjectives, Using adjectives as nouns, the Preterit tense. 

Also use shopping vocabulary:  What do you think?  Is it made of...? How does it fit me?  ALL of these questions come directly from the vocabulary 2B list!

el jueves:  Interims signed tonight by parent/guardian // Test tomorrow: choose one of the following to do for in order to prepare- online activities (2), crossword puzzle in your "cuaderno 2b" packet, more vocab columns (4), or other of your choice (flashcards, reading, etc) ... must show proof that you did this (copy, parent signature, etc..)

el viernes:   Organize your Notebook (3-ring binder)!  You will need to have your parent/guardian signature once organized on the Notebook Check paper passed out last week and on the GRADE REFLECTION Sheet too.  Both are due on Tuesday.  (Please keep the grade reflection sheet in the 5th section of your 3 ring binder. I should be able to find it easily on Tuesday!)

el martes:  complete the 2B columns- all 8 // complete the conjugations of these verbs in the Preterite (hablar, subir comer, vivir, bailar, vender) in all 6 forms and also... translate the tu form in English. // look up the rest of the clothing vocab and label it on the worksheet... may use any dictionary!
 
el miércoles:  "cuaderno packet" 2b- p. 40, 41 and top half of 44 // did you
complete the "Rabbit stew" worksheet?

el jueves:  p. 38 and 39 in the Cuaderno packet 2B // conjugations of the 8 verbs (regular and Irr yo) 

el viernes:   work on organizing your 3 ring binder // review 2B vocab // Do you have make up quizzes or tests to make up?  Extra credit?  Retake of verb tests?

el martes: ACT testing today.  1st block goes to Ms. Voorhees rm 2310 and 3rd block goes to Mr. Matteau's rm 310 //  same as above... due Wednesday. 

el miércoles:  Skits tomorrow and Test Friday... start reviewing now!  // you are going to be doing your skit with your partner you chose today.  So you already know if you're going to be talking about your classes or after school activities!  Use the vocabulary that you have.

el jueves:  Test tomorrow over 1A/B- review vocab, shoe verbs, negative/affirmative expressions, saber vs conocer and "cuanto tiempo hace que..." (how long have you been..) notes.  // recommend doing the crossword puzzles for review p. 14 and 25 in cuaderno packet... 50% from each page.  // How are you going to study?

el viernes:  From the new vocabulary list 2B, choose 25 words to study.  Write them down in the first column in Spanish, then guess with a pencil their definition in the 2nd column.  Once you've guessed as many as you can 2 or 11?- doesn't matter) then make corrections/fill in the blanks using a pen in the second column

el martes:  Complete act. 2 on your paper (began in class) writing what each "person" has to do (tener que) // begin columns from vocabulary 1A- choose 25 words that you want to study and then guess and correct in the second column // bring in your flashcards (blue, orange, purple, black and green)
 
el miércoles:  2 more vocab 1A columns for a total of 4 // study the color coded verbs!  (How?  using flashcards?  creating quizzes?  doing columns?)

el jueves:  test tomorrow over the (blue, orange, purple, black and green) verbs.  (50 words:  25 in English and 25 in Spanish)


el viernes:  Our test will be postponed until Monday.  STUDY!  First thing Monday.

el lunes:  On the worksheet given in class, follow the directions for writing down the questions basing them on the sentence you wrote down in class.  "Mis padres traviesos trabajan muchas horas todos los dias al mercado bonito en el centro de Raleigh porque necesitan mucho dinero para comprarme un carro."  // comlete your flashcards (all 58 verbs) if you didn't do them!  // test on Friday over the definitions.  //

el martes:  define the vocabulary "frequency of activities and weather expressions" from your Para empezar vocab list   //  complete the translation of the 20 questions and answer the first 8-  remember to start your questions with an Interrogative-if needed- and a verb!!
 
el miércoles:  do the review packet for the test- half of the activities from each page!  // do you know how to respond to questions?  did you complete p. 10, act. 15 that you copied down from the book?

el jueves:  Test today over the Para Empezar chapter

el viernes:  begin columns of the 2nd half of the verb list (front)  - choose 25 words, and then quiz yourself and correct in the 2nd column // start making flashcards for the rest of these verbs- due Wednesday!! //

el viernes:   Flashcards of  all the Regular and Accented verbs from your list due Monday  // Write down all capitals for the Spanish Speaking countries on your paper we began in class on Thursday. (the folded one)  // then do the front of the worksheet -capitals, word search

el viernes:  2 more columns of verbs... total of 6 // in the Present tense review packet do p. 11 and 18 // Study the map!  be able to locate the countries on Monday for a prequiz... let's see how you study and what get you would get! // make sure that you have completed the wordsearch on the back of the map (define all the words at the bottom and at least half of them found above)
