Welcome back! Third quarter has officially begun! We will be very busy this quarter, so please watch for announcements in Tuesday folders.

We will track out again from January 21st-February 10th.

Our first field trip will be on February 16th after we track back in. We will be traveling to the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts to watch the NC Symphony perform. All students will need a bagged lunch to eat in the classroom after we return. 
 
Parents--We have started the Read to Feed program. Your child should begin collecting sponsors who will donate money for each book they read. They should also be reading EVERY night!!  We have set a class goal to raise $500. If we meet it, I will personally donate an extra $200.

I would like all the parents and students to begin emphasizing reading aloud each night during the 20 minutes of reading homework. Oral reading is usually the lowest piece of your child's reading fluency, so it would be great to help them build their oral reading fluency and confidence by reading aloud with them or listening to them as they read each night.

I would like to personally thank everyone for the huge turnout we had on December 18th for our writing celebration. We really enjoyed having you as guests!!
