About The Teacher

A little info about Mrs. Stavrakakis!

I grew up mainly in Raleigh and went to York Elementary School, Daniels
Middle School, and Broughton High School! I then attended NC State
University for 2 years before I transferred to Meredith College. I graduated
with a BA in Child Development and an Elementary Education Teaching
Certificate. I also have a MS in Counselor Education from McDaniel College
which is located in West Minster, MD.

This is my second year teaching at Mills Park and 14th year teaching in all!
I have taught a variety of ages/grades ranging from 3 year olds to 6th grade
and have really enjoyed each age group I have taught. I have applied to be a
National Board Certification Candidate for this year!

I am married to George and have 2 children who also attend Mills Park.
Elizabeth is a rising 3rd grader and Katherine is a rising 1st grader. After
school they keep me busy with swimming and gymnastics!

In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family, watch movies,
go to the beach, swim, attend NC State football and basketball games, and
read. Somewhere in there I need to find time to start scrapbooking again!

I am looking forward to this year with you all! It is going to be a very
exciting year as we see what 4th grade has to offer all of us! Never
hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am here for you and
your child!

Never Give Up!

This week our class was discussing classroom rules. The idea of, "Never Give
Up!" was brough into the discussion! We decided that it was an important
motto and thought we would embrace it for our new school year! Thank you to
the students for our new motto!!
