Welcome

Dear Murrayville Mariner Families,

The Executive Board would like to welcome everyone to Murrayville Elementary School (MES).  We hope you are excited to play an active role in our school’s community. The MES PTA plays an important role in supporting this great school by working hard to provide the “extras” that enrich our children’s educational experiences.

We encourage you to join the MES PTA.  Your $8 membership does not commit you to volunteering any time; it simply assists us to provide yearlong support for your child’s classroom. The PTA is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America.  Today’s PTA is comprised of members who share a commitment to making a difference in the education, health and safety of all children.  It is an organization that promotes collaboration among parents, the school and the community.  The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child, but every individual who joins the PTA helps not only his or her own child but every child.  Your children are important to you and they are important to us!  Children will learn more and perform better in school when parents are involved in their education and of course our children all enjoy having the support of their family members. Your involvement is how our PTA stays strong and our children achieve success!

It is because of the strong volunteer efforts of our parents and the dedication of our teachers that we are able to offer so many academic and cultural activities throughout the school year.  Our fundraising helps provide grants to each of our grade levels so our children can take enriching trips, attend assemblies, and participate in wonderful events.  Your PTA contributions help clubs, school events, provide technology grants, purchase supplies to support classroom instruction, increase technology, curriculum material, and other student activities.  In addition, the PTA provides funding for books for the library and improvements to the building and grounds. It is your participation and support that ensures a great PTA and builds our sense of community for MES students, parents, families, faculty, administrators and staff.
