Hi! I was born and raised in Tennesee. I moved to NC with my family when I
was in high school. I went to East Tennessee State University for 2 1/2
years. Then I transfered to Meredith College. I graduated in 1994 with a
Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Certification K-6. This is my
13th year of teaching. (12 in kindergarten and 1 in 1st grade) I received my
National Board certification in 2004.
I have 2 beautiful children, Mikaela, age 10, and Quinn, age 3. My
children keep me pretty busy. I love going to my church, LifePoint. I
enjoy playing with my kids, running on my treadmill while listening to my
MP3 player, watching movies at home and in the theater, and I enjoy
reading!!!! I just finished the Twilight series. My parents have
a beach house on Oak Island. I love going to the beach, no matter what the
weather! The beach brings a peace to me that is magical.

My mission for my class is that each student will learn to love school. As a
kindergarten teacher, it is my joy and pleasure to introduce school to my
students. I want my students to acquire a love for learning and become life
long learners.
