About The Teacher
Hi! I was born and raised in Tennesee. I moved to NC with my family when I was in high school. I went to East Tennessee State University for 2 1/2 years. Then I transfered to Meredith College. I graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Certification K-6. This is my 16th year of teaching. (all in kindergarten and 1 in 1st grade) I received my National Board certification in 2004. I will have my Master's degree in Education in August 2012! I have 2 beautiful children, Mikaela, age 13, and Quinn, age 6. My children keep me pretty busy. I love going to church. I enjoy playing with my kids, watching movies at home and in the theater, and I enjoy reading!!!! I liked reading the Twilight series. My parents have a beach house on Oak Island. I love going to the beach, no matter what the weather! The beach brings a peace to me that is magical. I hope you enjoy our class web site!

Mission
My mission for my class is that each student will learn to love school. As a kindergarten teacher, it is my joy and pleasure to introduce school to my students. I want my students to acquire a love for learning and become life long learners.
